An Exploration around The Art of Rest

Earlier this month, I had the absolute pleasure of talking to Davis Cowles of Moon & Back. Not only is Davis an excellent podcast host and gracious interviewer, but I personally have found myself chewing on our conversation ever since.

Davis is released the podcast episode on his platform Moon & Back where we chat about what it really means to be in pursuit of The Art of Rest.

Spoilers: The perfect formula to The Art of Rest is never fully revealed, but we have a hell of a good time touching on the tip of the iceberg of interesting topics nonetheless.

Don’t forget to check out more of Davis’s Work at Moon & Back where there is fertile fodder for living well and doing it together.

Davis writes about what inspires and interests him (sometimes poetry, sometimes prose). Beyond cultivating his own curiosities and longings, Moon & Back exists to invite you into deeper relationship with the stuff that brings you alive, too.

I—personally—really enjoy Davis’s work and the way he navigates doing it. 10/10 would recommend. Grateful to have Davis and his work featured in The Art of Rest community.

On a similar note—If you’re not subscribed yet to The Art of Rest, why not give’r a shot. We’d love to have you along for the ride.

This sub-section of The Art of Rest, is all about threads that hold us together—The Community Wisdom.

Here the Art of Rest honors and acknowledges there is no “one” right way that works for everyone. We believe deeply that a diversity of thoughts, creative practices, and perspectives is what keeps our lives rich and evolving. In this section, “Community Wisdom” is where we post short interviews with creatives, scientists, and restful people1 so that we might continue to learn from each other’s inherent and earned wisdom.

The Art of Rest splits our time seasonally but is lovingly operated on historical lands of present day Shoshone-Bannock & Nez Perce in the summers and traditional lands of the Salish, Kootenai, and Kalispel peoples, in the winter.
